Reach for the Stars.

At Project First Light, we believe that every child should have the chance to explore the universe.

Launched within the Tudor Grange Academy Trust, our project places space exploration directly into the hands of students—bringing live, awe-inspiring views of the cosmos into classrooms across the UK. We are building a future where access to the stars isn’t reserved for observatories or experts, but made available to every young person with curiosity and wonder.

Using smart, AI-powered telescopes like the Seestar S30, Project First Light enables students to explore the Moon, planets, galaxies, and nebulae—all with just a tap on a screen. There’s no need for complicated setup or specialist knowledge. With each observation, we empower pupils of all backgrounds and abilities to discover the universe for themselves.

But Project First Light is more than just equipment—it’s a movement to raise science capital, ignite curiosity beyond the classroom, and connect communities through the stars. Rooted in the ethos of Tudor Grange Academy Trust, the project is driven by a belief in inclusive, transformative education that reaches far beyond textbooks.

In the years ahead, we aim to grow a national network of schools united under one sky—sharing their discoveries, images, and questions. Whether in city schools, rural academies, or anywhere in between, every student deserves the chance to look up and feel inspired.

Through Project First Light, Tudor Grange Academy Trust is proud to lead the way—redefining what science education can look like in the 21st century. Because the sky belongs to all of us. And every journey starts with a first light.
